Hi Suresh. I agree with your content. Let me also add some insight. Employees if not motivated will not be fully engaged hence will see a reduction in productivity and sustainability of the organization. The approach is to actively involve employees in sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) issues and in this way lead employees to the perception of their jobs as being meaningful. Consequentially, increased engagement is expected, which in turn is positively related to business performance and profitability (Casey & Sieber,2016).
ReplyDeleteAgreed with your point Udana ,According to IBM’s CSR summary for 2010, 100 interviews with clients and internal leaders were conducted to help refresh and redefine CSR engagement. In the human resource program, employees were involved in collaborative brainstorming sessions. The positive effect of employee engagement was “equipping IBMers to give back to their communities and apply their skills in meaningful ways: improving our employee satisfaction, attraction and retention rates; and helping us express IBM’s brand and values to the world” (IBM 2010).
DeleteFurthermore, the IBM CSR case study will enhance the organization's brand value and the employees' self-esteem, which is a vital factor for employee motivation and organizational sustainability.
Hi Suresh, I'm agreeing with you. Knowing what motivates employees and incorporating this knowledge into the reward system will help Extension identify, recruit, employ, train, and retain a productive workforce. Motivating Extension employees requires both managers and employees working together (Buford, 1993).
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely correct, Ramesh. It is also important that line managers are properly trained in emotional intelligence and identify employees' needs. Managers must design rewards and recognition in order to focus on and understand the individual and his or her unique attributes. (Atchison, 2003:21).
DeleteHi Suresh, useful content in your blog with regard to motivation and I do agree with you. In the meantime it can also be defined as "A force that originates individuals to take actions to accomplish personal and organizational goals" (Elvina S. and Chao L.Z. 2019)
ReplyDeleteHighly Appreciate your comment Yohan, Also employee motivation is influenced by a variety of intrinsic and extrinsic elements such as fascinating work, job appreciation, contentment, job security, promotions and growth, rewards, and workplace environment. The major goal of these variables is to create an environment in which individuals are willing to work with initiative, interest, and excitement, with high personal and group satisfaction, a sense of responsibility, and confidence in order to achieve personal and organizational goals (Palaniammal, 2013, p.1)
DeleteAgreed with your post Suresh, Ambitious employees are essential for organizations that want to improve their performance. In this context, motivation means the willingness of employees to strive and take action to achieve the company's goals. The challenge of organizational management is to maintain employee motivation as well as employee motivation.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with you Chamara , employee performance is critical for the business since the success of the organization is dependent on the employee's creativity, ingenuity, and devotion (Kreisman, 2002). In order to do so in this current context, organizations should address Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Thus, if an employee is satisfied and joyful, he or she will accomplish his or her job in the most fantastic way possible. Sharma and Chaudhary (2012).
